My Friend Mathew

hi friends,I think it has been more than a week since I last posted(???)I think I should start posting about the people whom I have come across in my life.. I have a lot to tell about my parents and friends.. I reserve my parents part for some other day.Today I shall tell about my first friend.I was in cochin naval base then. I studied my kindergarten and 1st and 2nd there. There I had a friend called George Mathew. we both were together all the time. He was the son of the navy commander and my father was just a junior commissioned officer (very low in rank compared to Mathew’s dad).he would often fall sick. And he had about seven major operations even before he completed second standard. His brother would come down to my home (and only to my home :-)) to cover all class work that Mathew had missed due to his illness. The day when my family decided to leave cochin to settle down in trichy(my home town) I was very sad coz I was leaving Mathew back.But the day when we were leaving Mathew’s dad (the commander himself) came to our house with his family to see me. I was really very happy. Not often you would hear a commander coming to a junior commissioned officer's home .. that too with his family.But he did it just for his son. Then I came to trichy and after many years (I think when I was in ninth) one of my dad's friends said that he met Mathew in bombay. That was the only time I had heard of him till date. I don’t know whether he would remember his kindergarten friend anymore. But he was the first person to show me the power of friendship. I cannot forget him for my life. I still have the class group photograph where we both were standing. And whenever I show that photo to my friends I don’t miss showing Mathew also.I think slowly I will introduce all the people who made my life this happy and beautiful. Happy weekend.
